Email OrganiserPrior to co-founding BucketLabs 'Paving the way to a SmartNation', Tim Packer led the SmartCities team at NEC NZ Ltd, exploring how to make best use of emerging technologies to improve our lives and environment. He has experience across a range of technologies, from telecommunications to precision agriculture.
When he is not helping local government and companies make sense of their data, Tim can be found in his local community gardens or karate dōjō.

Ian founded Animation Research Ltd in Dunedin NZ in 1990 on the basis that he had found the place he wanted to live. 1990 was also the year that Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web. " I had no idea what that was or that it had even been invented" says Taylor, " but ultimately this was the electronic highway that would eventually take us to the world."
Longstanding MP is currently the Chair of both Callaghan Innovation and the Chair of the Southern Partnership Group - Dunedin Hospital Rebuild.
His views are based on great knowledge and experience of NZ's innovation sector, most recently as Director of the University of Otago's Centre for Innovation.
