Where design + development meet

Join us for a panel discussion with industry experts about collaboration as part of our weekly Master of User Experience Design class.

What's it all about?

How might design, development, and business work better together? What challenges do we currently face and how might they change in the future? Listen, participate, brainstorm, and learn more about how might we facilitate better interactions throughout the design process.

Our wonderful panelists are:

  • Kate Henderson, Lead Android Developer at PaperKite
  • Andrew Millar, Experience Director at PaperKite
  • Shanshan Zhou, UX designer and researcher at Optimal Workshop
  • Andrew Tokeley, Product Leadership Coach

Tweet your questions in advance to @WellingtonICT using the hashtag #techweek and we will try to include them in the discussion.

Kate previously worked at Trade-Me and is an organiser for Wellington's Google Developers Group. Now, at PaperKite, she plays a fundamental part in setting the standards and processes for how Android development integrates with the other disciplines.

Andrew Millar

Experience Director at PaperKite

Andrew joined PaperKite as lead designer in 2013 and oversaw the design of apps for brands like the All Blacks, Air New Zealand's Grabaseat, and Coca-Cola. His role has moved from Designer, to Creative Director, to now Experience Director.

Shanshan Zhou

UX designer and researcher at Optimal Workshop

Shanshan is a hybrid/full-stack designer (a UX ninja) who has worked at design agencies, running her own design studio, and leading a small product team. She’s moved from individual creative exploration into a collaborative practice at Optimal Workshop.

Andrew Tokeley

Product Leadership Coach

Tokes works with a wide range of clients and their product teams, he’s seen first-hand what contributes to success and what works against it. He was hired as one of the first product leaders at Xero, founded and ran the first NZ ProductTank Meetup, and moderates the KissMySaas product stream.
