Location powers our lives every day – whether it’s Uber, Google Maps, or a super-important app that finds the best caffeine fix in your neighbourhood. That same (geospatial) technology is propelling industry, business and government forward in the digital age.
Come and learn from industry front-runners about real-world projects where location and geospatial technology are the heroes. Then, put your fingers to the keyboard and learn some practical skills in afternoon workshops.
Whether you’re a seasoned geospatial professional or a location data newbie, Location Intelligence 2019 is for you!
View the event website for more information.
You should be present for the whole duration of this event.

Sagar is a data scientist who specialises in artificial intelligence machine learning and deep learning algorithms for automated feature extraction and classification. He's built some impressive stuff! Sagar will tag-team with Dr Kurt Joy’s remote sensing and AI "unconference."
Santosh is an innate philosopher, academic, world traveller and multi-linguist, not to mention a formidable talent when it comes to geospatial innovation and technical expertise. He has more than 10-years’ experience in geospatial techniques and project management. He will lead a workshop on QGIS.
Will has a broad range of geospatial skills, coding languages and experience that he has applied to several geospatial projects, including NCTIR’s work to restore earthquake-damaged infrastructure in Kaikoura. Will is also an artist. He’ll lead a workshop on how to build a webmap.
Kurt is already a keynote speaker at Location Intelligence 2019 but he’s also hosting an unconference-style GIS in Business workshop in the afternoon. Come along and help set the agenda to discuss the data issues and opportunities that our organisations have and spatial solution ideas.
Grab your lanyard and head upstairs for tea/coffee before the first session.
This is a "let's hang out and get to know each other" session, better known as networking - but a bit more relaxed and without the fancy title. This will be hosted by Ryan "The Lion" Ashton from A Few Quiet Yarns - no-selling networking events where you have a few laughs and get to know the person, not their suit.
