Join us for an afternoon of canapes and conversations as we hear from some of Dunedin’s most inspiring Tech Women.
What's it all about?
This Dunedin Tech Women event celebrates the experience and depth of skills of some of our tech champions.
The event kicks off with 5-minute lightning talks from our speakers, who will share their journey into tech, and the challenges they have overcome to be where they are today.
This will be followed by their panel discussing hot topics surrounding diversity within the technology realm, how we can continue to grow the capacity of technology within Dunedin as well as how we can build a supportive network for Women within Technology in Dunedin.
There will also be a chance to network with other tech women over delicious canapes and drinks.
You should be present for the whole duration of this event.

Anna specialises in using commercially focused science to improve agricultural food products. She has a PhD in Biotechnology and has worked in science research roles in Australia and New Zealand. Her desire to become more commercially focused led her to Dunedin company AbacusBio seven years ago. She is currently a Director of AbacusBio and is leading the company’s initiatives in Asia, particularly China.
Anna believes the biggest challenge for our generation is to produce safe, high quality food in a sustainable manner for the growing world population. She is optimistic that scientists can play a role in finding innovative solutions and sharing knowledge. She is also a strong advocate for women in STEAM, and science and industry working together to grow the value of New Zealand’s export products.
An experienced CEO, Project and Business Manager Cheryl's career has spanned hydro dam engineering, animation, and technology solution design with some of NZ's biggest companies. She is passionate about increasing more diverse participation of girls into STEAM subjects and career paths, and started her career studying Engineering at the University of Canterbury.
Elora is a business owner, digital manager, computer science student and was Google Internationals's WTM Scholar for 2018.
She will share her experiences of visiting Google HQ, and give an insight into what it is like as a young woman entering the tech industry.

Studied disruptive innovation - not just the buzzword - applied it to entrepreneurs creating sustainable innovations in the transportation industry.
