Discover Drones is a interactive program designed for people who are interested in flying or would like to explore other possibilities with drones.
Discover Drones will cover the following topics:
CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) Regulations for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) flight. Here you will be taught the rules and regulations when it comes to operating a drone in Tairāwhiti. Presenter - Ramon Sanders.
Geological research. Dr Cave will discuss how drones have become an innovative and essential component to his research. Presenter - Murry Cave
Drone photography, pointers and tips from a pro. Josie will discuss how she utilises the features of her drone to get professional videos and photographs and how you can do it too. Presenter - Josie Mcclutchie
Current and future drone technologies and components. EIT Robotics tutor Steve will show you the components of a drone (what a drone is made up of) and will delve into current and new drone technologies. Presenter - Steve Main
Flight simulation, drone laser competition and flying a real drone. This is the fun part! Here you will have the opportunity to fly a number of different drones and see who takes the title of Drone King! Presenters - Nick Boeyen, Ken York, Tina Blumenthal and Ian Purdon
After the event you will have the opportunity to mix and mingle while helping yourselves to some light refreshments provided by EIT.
