Shahid Saiyad is an Associate Partner at IBM New Zealand, specialising in digital strategy, interactive experience, blockchain and artificial intelligence. Shahid is an expert practitioner in Lean Canvas and Business Case Visualisation as well as an IBM Design Thinking leader and Scrum Master. Previously based in China and India, he has worked in diverse teams and led several rapid high impact engagements for clients in a variety of industries especially in Financial Services across Asia Pacific. Shahid's focus on blockchain and ecosystem development has involved an in-depth focus on optimisation of clients' complex business processes, and the development of innovative economic models and governance. He is the lead spokesperson on blockchain at IBM New Zealand and frequently speaks at industry events and conferences.
Kristen is a senior strategy professional with over a decade of experience running marketing and product teams at a wide range of organisations. With interests in innovation and startups, she directed New Zealand’s first fintech accelerator, preparing startups to compete on a global scale.
More recently as Kiwi Wealth’s Director of Innovation, Kristen validated a financial platform concept leveraging partnerships and APIs. This led to the launch of Hatch, a platform that opens up a world of investment opportunities for Kiwis. Kristen currently co-chairs FintechNZ’s Open Ecosystem Working Group to explore open data initiatives in New Zealand.
Andrew is a technology lawyer at Hudson Gavin Martin in Auckland – with a focus on FinTech, data and “as a Service” business models.
He regularly helps start-up and scale-up clients navigate complex legal issues to execute their business strategy at the cutting edge of technology – in areas like IoT, AI, blockchain and data-driven platforms.
Andrew sits on the Executive Council for FinTech NZ and is a member of the NZ FinTech Regulatory Roundtable – a cross-industry group considering key regulatory issues in financial services and technology.
Prior to joining HGM, Andrew led the FinTech & Innovation legal practice at Barclays in the UK, where he helped to launch the Barclays Accelerator and the ‘Rise’ innovation programme, and provided strategic advice in areas such as cloud, cyber security, open banking and APIs.
