Ben heads up the AI Forum of New Zealand – an independent organisation bringing together business, academia, and the government advancing the AI ecosystem to help achieve a prosperous and inclusive future New Zealand. Reid has a 24-year career background in software development and strategic technology consulting, working with a wide range of organisations spanning multinational software vendors, start-ups and government.

Tony Greaves

Analytics Technologist, Eltanin

Tony is an consultant and contractor operating as “Eltanin NZ”. His background includes 30 years as employee and contractor in New Zealand
science and industry, working with data modelling technologies across a wide range of applications. A particular focus has been on building machine learning workflows appropriate to an ISO accredited environment.
Current projects include work in
* automated discovery from science literature
* managing machine learning models and metadata as valuable IP.
Tony’s favourite machine learning application to date: objective quality evaluation in barrel-ageing wines.

Ernestynne Walsh

Senior Data Scientist, Nicholson Consulting

Ernestynne is an experienced senior data scientist from the East coast (Ngāti Porou and Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Her specialty areas include: transparency, privacy and ethics around predictive modelling, creating frontline operational models in Government and explainable algorithms.

This year she has co-presented a keynote about automating frontline decision making at ACC and co-delivered a natural language processing workshop with MIT staff. She has been appointed as an external member of the ACC Ethics Panel and travelled to both Australia and the United States to deliver a workshop on combining open source and proprietary software.

Isaac Wilson is the Director of Litmus Marketing (www.litmusmarketing.co.nz) and Founder of Text Ferret (www.textferret.com). Litmus Marketing is a boutique data-driven marketing consultancy, helping organisations bring science to their business decision-making.
