Vic Crone

Chief Executive, Callaghan Innovation

As Chief Executive of New Zealand’s innovation agency, Vic Crone leads a team dedicated to activating innovation and helping businesses grow faster for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

Vic has significant executive and governance experience in strategy, transformation and innovation in the tech sector. Before Callaghan Innovation she was Managing Director of Xero, NZ and New Markets, following roles at Chorus and Telecom NZ.

She has been an Independent Director on the Boards of a number of companies and organisations in the technology sector, including RedShield, Figure.NZ, Creative HQ and the Hi-Tech Trust.

Robbie Paul

CEO, Icehouse Ventures

Robbie Paul is CEO of Icehouse Ventures, an investment group that includes Ice Angels, Tuhua Ventures, Eden Ventures, and the Flux Accelerator. The group has collectively invested >$100m into 165 startups since 2004. Icehouse Ventures was established as a new company by The Icehouse in 2019 with investment from Simplicity Kiwisaver, FNZC, and Sir Stephen Tindall.

Robbie joined The Icehouse in 2008, became CEO of Ice Angels in 2015, and was a founding investor in Tuhua Ventures in 2016. He is an investor in >80 startups including Shuttlerock, Parrot Analytics, Halter, Avertana, and Crimson Education.

Oren Gershtein

CEO, IdealityRoads

CEO of IdealityRoads, specializes in ensuring that countries and corporations around the world enjoy the full benefits of innovation.

Prior to founding IdealityRoads, Oren served as CEO of Van Leer Ventures, one of Israel’s leading early-stage investment funds. Oren served as a chairman of the Board of Directors and as an active board member in numerous early-stage ventures. Over the course of 15 years, Oren has founded and managed over 75 early-stage high-tech companies.

As CEO of IdealityRoads, Oren helps governments, as well as private corporations, create high-technology environments to drive economic growth. He works with ministers, policymakers and other decision-makers to develop a local tech-ecosystem. IdealityRoads’ approach creates connections among academia, government, and industry to foster ecosystems based on Public-Private Partnerships.

Oren worked hand-in-hand with the New Zealand Government to design and implement the country’s Technology Incubator program. Currently in the stage of completing its pilot phase, the program has already produced dozens of high-tech startups with novel solutions addressing pain points in key global markets.
