What's it all about?
Eden Ventures is the largest Chinese-led angel fund in New Zealand, specialised in early-stage venture investments. It is founded on a long-term commitment to support the New Zealand start-up ecosystem. Co-founded by the Icehouse and backed by professional Chinese venture investors, Eden Ventures is leveraging its Chinese venture resources to empower the best Kiwi high-growth start-ups and ambitious entrepreneurs to accelerate globally.
Eden invest in and help grow cutting-edge technology companies which are changing the world. A good example of this is learncoach, a digital learning platform for NCEA content (and some University courses), which is used by over 150,000 students per year in New Zealand.
Tech companies who are new to Eden Ventures will be able to speak with founders of companies we have invested in (as well as wholesale investors) to give them an understanding of what is required to be a successful tech company as well as how to acquire funding. Investors will have a chance to learn more about the sector, listen to investment pitches from companies seeking investment and network.
This event is open to wholesale investors and founders of technology companies. Presentations will be made in both Mandarin and English. A live translation for Mandarin parts to English will be provided by advanced speech recognition company iFLYTEK who are headquartered in China. iFLYTEK will also be discussing the progression of the artificial intelligence space during the event.

Jason is a partner at Icehouse Ventures where he built valuable foundations in Venture Capital. Drawing upon his developed technical skills, Jason co-founded Eden Ventures where he plays a key role in investment decisions, fund-raising , and ensuring our start-ups are positioned for success.
David is the CEO and founder of LearnCoach, an ed-tech that helps over 150,000 students per year with access to school support. He is interested in how technology can improve education. He is the 2018 Young New Zealander of the Year, a Peter Blake Leadership recipient, and an Edmund Hillary Fellow.
